If you haven't listened to the first episode of this four week series, where we pull back the curtain and give you an inside scoop, inside peek into the restart collective with myself and co-creator Jennifer Seiss, head back to last week's episode, where we talked all about the power of belonging and why that is so important to be able to grow. I know, as a high achieving woman, as someone who has a lot on their plate and you're running the world you need a little support too. You want to grow. Growth means that you are learning and that you have new experiences, and that we can always be increasing the things that move us forward, decreasing the things that move us back. Right. So, with that growth, in order for that to actually happen, we have to have a sense of belonging. So go back and listen to that episode if you haven't yet.

Speaker 1:

And today we're going to talk about the power of intention and action. This one means so much If you have been listening and watching this past year as Jennifer Seiss and I have come together to create this business, advising and project development company of a research collective where we're able to meet women in person, one on one, and help you step into what lights you up, make an intentional action plan and take immediate action. We've done this in person. Like I mentioned on last week's podcast episode, over 12 one on one intensives and more than two group retreats, and over 50 women have been impacted by the restart collective and seeing the power of intention and action. So today, jennifer Seiss and I are going to share our conversation about why it's so important to have both that intention and that action, and what that can look like for you to help move the needle.

Speaker 1:

We've seen clients double and triple their income. We've seen clients be able to take vacations and they haven't been able to do that in years. We've seen them be able to start the new project the thing that's been weighing on them for years that they've wanted to start. We've seen them step into that because of intention and action. I can't wait for you to list of this one, so let's jump in. There is so much power in intention and action, which is why we always say the restart collective is where intention and action meet, and we have seen this so much over and over and over again this past year of working with clients.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we have so much proof to bring to the table when it comes to the power of intention and action coming together. We have seen clients double and triple their incomes because we have helped them take action on intentions that we've also helped them set. And the thing is, is that when you don't take action on an intention, it's just something on a list and you can. You can accomplish so so much when you set intentions that are in line with the life that you want to live and the life that you want, and take action towards them. And, like I said, we have seen it over and over again and doubling and tripling your income sounds really good, but it also feels really good when you've done it in an intentional way, with um needle, moving action, I think.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's been really fun to see this happen over the last year for our clients when they're taking that action that we've helped them intentionally set. And something that's really powerful about this is that to-do list doesn't hang over our heads, because I think we can all relate to that to-do list the item on the to-do list that we keep moving the next day the next day.

Speaker 1:

It's just live there for years, and either you should just throw it away or we need to set some intention around it and really plan for it and really ask yourself why is it on your to-do list and why are? Why are you not doing it, and what do we need to set up so that you can take that intentional action? I think sometimes if we just have an action and we don't necessarily know why we're doing it or what the reason behind it is or, um, the importance of it, then we don't necessarily prioritize it too, and a lot of times, I think people I've seen this with clients too when we meet up, our clients want to take. They want to take action. They. That's why they come to us. They come to us because they want growth, they want their business to grow, they want their revenue to grow, they want more time for themselves, they want all these things and they're hard workers and they're willing to do the work.

Speaker 1:

But a lot of times clients just don't know which action is the right one. We've heard that question all the time what is my needle mover? What is the one that's actually going to move the needle?

Speaker 2:

what are the things I should really focus on, and I think that can stop people from taking action too 100% and they they think that that they're determining the actions they need to take based on the actions other people are taking, and those people have different intentions.

Speaker 2:

Those people want different outcomes and when you can get really specific about what you want and you can establish and like lay out the outcomes you want, then you can set intentions towards that and reverse engineer by putting the actions in place along the way.

Speaker 2:

And, like you said, like people, if you don't know what your needle mover is, then you need to pause and and decide and figure out what that is first, then set the intention and then set apart the time to take the action because, like we said, if you can have intentions all over the place, but if you don't take action, they're just going to be on a thing on a list or something that you want, but you're never going to get there because you aren't taking any action and right. What we see so often with clients is they have all these things they want but, like you said, they don't know the action to take or they're kind of in action paralysis and they're like I really don't know what to do, so I'm just either doing nothing or I'm doing all of these things that don't matter and don't make sense doing all the things right?

Speaker 1:

yeah, exactly yep, yes, doing everything and feeling like if I just keep really busy and do all the things and grind all the time, then I will actually see. See the needle move, but you don't, and that's can be really frustrating when there's no intention behind it. So we've seen both sides for sure, 100% 100% and I know what's really powerful.

Speaker 1:

I love when we're in the same room as a client on our two-on-one intensives and in our small group retreats and we can see the two things actually come together. We're intention and action really literally do meet together in the room when we can put up a huge post-it on the wall and we map out their intentions, we map out what actions to take and then immediately they start taking action. That's when these women become unstoppable, because they're taking immediate action and they're getting that momentum going, the wheel starting to turn and they're realizing, oh, I can do this and they're letting go of all the other things they thought they had to do.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's the biggest reducer of clutter in your brain and on your calendar when you attach the action to the intention. It's kind of like saying I want to lose 20 pounds, that's great. You can intend to lose 20 pounds all day, but if you don't take the action to start eating your whole foods or things like that, you're not going to lose 20 pounds.

Speaker 1:

You just aren't right you can intend all day, right, you can intend all day, but without action.

Speaker 2:

It's just an intention and that's not not going to get you anywhere.

Speaker 1:

Yeah it isn't, and you know like I can relate to this just yesterday. Sometimes we have these intentions and it can be hard to take action and there's a lot of reasons, there's so many reasons, and a lot of them are just in our head. It's a mindset thing of why we don't move forward or why we don't take action. Yesterday I have this old coat You've probably seen it because I've seen you many times but I have this old winter coat and the zippers falling off and it's dirty and it looks terrible, but I've been wearing it forever because I hate shopping so much like hate shopping and and even though it's a wonderful, beautiful thing because you get something at the end.

Speaker 1:

But my sister picked me up yesterday, so there's my Christmas gift from her and my mom. She picked me up yesterday in the car, drove me to the mall and when I would start to have a little temper tantrum and I really tried not to, I really tried to be an adult, but part of me just wanted to be like this is really hard, I really don't want to do this, and she just kept talking me through it and encouraging me through it and she made it fun and she helped me know like, asked me questions about how to pick out the right coat, and today I put on my new coat and I called my mom and sister and said is this how a coat is supposed to feel?

Speaker 1:

It feels so good, I can move my arms and I feel warm. Who knew? I had no idea? But there was so many things just in my head and I had bad experiences shopping before that kept me from taking action, even though I intended. It's been on my list for three years to buy a new coat Never happened. But having someone with you to help you make those decisions faster that's everything.

Speaker 2:

A million percent.

Speaker 2:

A million percent.

Speaker 2:

If you want to, if you want to set intentions and take action and close decision loops in a rapid fire format, you need to number one, be in the resource lounge.

Speaker 2:

Number two, schedule an intensive or be part of a group retreat, because we walk alongside you and we are right there with you and you are closing those loops and taking those actions and you get so much further down the road, so much faster, like you said, because when you have someone walking alongside you, your decision making is so much more effective because, number one, you've invested in it and, number two, when you have people speaking into it, then you can have that confidence to take that action and do amazing, amazing things. So, if you want to see business growth and you want to see those intentions or goals come to life and you know that you need some help, support and encouragement in that we would love for you to DM us the word lounge on Instagram at restart underscore collective, because we have a place for you to set those intentions and take action together, because we even have calls designed to do just that. It's that important and we coach you and walk alongside you and then this whole beautiful community celebrates you.

Speaker 1:
